17 Oct Meet Cristina Kim
While (naturally, or should we say organically) it was Cristina’s charm and good looks that caught Mitch’s attention from the start, it was really her smarts that made him realize he wanted her to light up his life, and his business!
Cristina had planned to grow up to be Clarice Starling (and if you’re from her generation, you KNOW who this is, otherwise you’re from the generation who would Google it), but after getting her honours degree in Psychology, Criminology and Sociology at University of Toronto, and over 13 years of working as an executive for entrepreneurial companies—Cristina followed her family’s roots and went into business for herself. With experience in industries that included marketing, advertising, media, software, distribution and retail, Cristina had her own small business consultancy (called Wisetree, no less). Her speciality was to help small businesses build solid roots and then branch out and reach new heights with strategy and smarts. Her passion is to bring the best out in everything—from businesses to people.
Lucky for both Mitch and Cristina, sparks flew in more ways than one, and they realized how lucky they were to work AND grow their businesses and lives together, starting with Illuminations. Is this not a brilliantly, bright and delightful real life story?
Fast forward to right now, Cristina is the beauty and brains behind the growth of Illuminations, while Mitch is the brains and brawn that is behind every bright and positive Illuminations experience every day.
From launching new expansion projects, to providing excellent value and quality for their customers, this dynamic duo are thrilled to light up the lives of so many wonderful families in so many communities!
When Cristina isn’t busy growing Illuminations with Mitch and making it a brighter and better company every day, she enjoys working on her budding children’s brand that uses storytelling and characters to ignite a lifelong relationship between kids, their intuition, and their core values.
Cristina has published six illustrated kids’s books, and is publishing her next nursery rhyme soon! When not working on any of the above, she’s most certainly with her dogs, or as she calls them, her bears. She’s the crazy dog lady we hear about in suburban legends—personified.
While (naturally, or should we say organically) it was her charm and good looks that caught Mitch’s attention from the start, it was really her smarts that made him realize he wanted her to light up his life, and his business…for life!
